I already have a post in the queue coming up on that, but again BLM has never been a statement that is saying only black lives matter, but it is talking about the very specific and unique situation black people face in America.
Think of triage at a hospital. Everyone there is in need of help and no one should be denied that help. But to pretend that everyone needs the same level and urgency of treatment would be wrong. Saying one thing is more urgent or life-threatening does not mean that all other needs are so small as to be unimportant. It is simply realizing that some situations are worse than others.
It's not a perfect analogy (nothing is) so don't take it too far. The point is that the BLM movement is trying to highlight how the justice system fails, or is out right biased against, the black community in America. It is simply crying out for the basic right of equal treatment.
After last night I say BS! ALL LIVES MATTER!
